Bono’s organic extra virgin olive oil is made from 100% Italian-grown olives and left unfiltered to preserve its full-bodied, rustic flavor. Because it skips the final filtration process, this oil retains tiny particles of olive fruit, resulting in a cloudy appearance and a richer, more complex profile. It is cold-pressed and USDA-certified organic, making it a staple for those who prefer their oil as close to the grove as possible.
The Frank and Sal Difference: We source Bono because of their commitment to Sicilian tradition. This unfiltered oil is thicker than standard EVOO and grabs the bread much better during dipping. It’s the closest you can get to tasting oil fresh from the press.
That cloudiness is a sign of quality. Since this oil is unfiltered, it contains micro-particles of the olives themselves. Over time, these may settle at the bottom. Simply give the bottle a gentle swirl to redistribute the flavor.
While you can cook with it, we recommend using it as a finishing oil. Its bold, raw flavor is best appreciated when drizzled over salads, pasta, or used as a dip for bread.
