What Is Fig Balsamic Glaze?

Fig balsamic glaze is a thick, sweet and tangy finishing sauce that combines balsamic vinegar with fig. Mazzetti's version contains Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, cooked grape must and fig puree. Drizzle it over cheese, fruit, salads or cooked dishes just before serving.

What to Serve with Fig Balsamic Glaze

  • Cheese boards: try a light drizzle over Parmigiano Reggiano, Gorgonzola, fresh mozzarella or creamy goat cheese.
  • Fruit and desserts: spoon a little over strawberries, sliced pears, grilled peaches or vanilla ice cream.
  • Pizza and crostini: add after baking to a prosciutto and arugula pizza, or finish ricotta-topped toast.
  • Vegetables and salads: drizzle over roasted Brussels sprouts, a Caprese salad or greens with pears and walnuts.
  • Grilled meats: finish sliced pork tenderloin, chicken or steak with a small amount just before serving.

An easy place to start: put out a few pieces of Parmigiano Reggiano, sliced pears and walnuts. Add a light drizzle of fig glaze to the cheese and fruit, then serve with crusty bread.
