Mazzetti Gold Label Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI – Aged 3 Years, 250 ml

Mazzetti Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI – Gold Label Aged 3 Years

Made in Modena, Italy • 250 ml / 8.45 fl oz

Mazzetti Gold Label is a step above a sharp everyday vinegar without becoming as thick as a balsamic glaze. Made with more cooked grape must than wine vinegar, it has a smooth, medium body with gentle sweetness, lively acidity and notes of plum jam and sweet spices.

What Makes Mazzetti Gold Label Different?

  • Aged for at least three years in oak barrels to soften the acidity and develop greater depth.
  • More grape must than wine vinegar for a rounder, fruitier flavor.
  • Protected PGI production verifies its connection to the designated production area in Modena.
  • Medium-bodied and pourable for dressing, cooking or adding directly to a finished dish.
  • Non-GMO Project Verified and produced and bottled in Italy.

Recommended Uses

  • Drizzle over grilled steak, pork, chicken, sausage or cured meats.
  • Finish roasted peppers, mushrooms, onions, squash or Brussels sprouts.
  • Dress tomatoes and fresh mozzarella or a peppery arugula salad.
  • Add a few drops to Parmigiano Reggiano, strawberries or vanilla gelato.
  • Use in pan sauces, marinades or risotto when you want balanced sweet-and-tangy flavor.

Simple balsamic vinaigrette: Whisk one tablespoon of Mazzetti Gold Label with three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Add salt, black pepper and a small spoonful of Dijon mustard if desired.

Francesco’s Tip

Use a light hand and add it after grilled meats or vegetables come off the heat. Starting with a few drops lets the fruit, acidity and oak-barrel character complement the food instead of covering it.

Questions About Mazzetti Gold Label Balsamic Vinegar

Q Is this balsamic vinegar the same as balsamic glaze?
A

No. Gold Label is an aged, pourable Balsamic Vinegar of Modena made from cooked grape must and wine vinegar. A balsamic glaze is a much thicker condiment, often reduced or made with additional thickening ingredients.

Q What do PGI and the gold seal mean?
A

PGI means Protected Geographical Indication and verifies that the protected stage of production takes place in the designated Modena area under established standards. The gold Consortium seal identifies a Balsamic Vinegar of Modena aged for at least three years.

Q How should the bottle be stored?
A

Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Proper storage helps preserve its aroma, flavor and smooth texture after opening.
