Aged at least 3 years in oak barrels • Made in Italy • 250 ml / 8.45 fl oz

Mazzetti Gold Label is a Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI aged for at least three years in oak barrels. Made from cooked grape must and wine vinegar, it has a smooth, medium body and a gently sweet, tangy flavor. It pours easily and is not a thick balsamic glaze.

Use it on tomatoes and mozzarella, grilled meats or roasted vegetables. A few drops are also good with Parmigiano Reggiano, strawberries or vanilla gelato.

What Makes Mazzetti Gold Label Different?

  • At least three years in oak barrels: Aging softens the acidity and develops the flavor.
  • More cooked grape must than wine vinegar: A rounder, fruitier taste with notes of plum jam and sweet spices.
  • Protected PGI production: Verifies its connection to the designated production area in Modena.
  • Medium-bodied and pourable: Suitable for dressings, cooking and adding to a finished dish.
  • Made and bottled in Italy: Non-GMO Project Verified.

How to Use Mazzetti Gold Label

  • Grilled and cured meats: Drizzle over steak, pork, chicken or sausage, or serve a little with cured meats.
  • Roasted vegetables: Add to peppers, mushrooms, onions, squash or Brussels sprouts.
  • Salads: Dress tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, or mix with olive oil for an arugula salad.
  • Cheese and fruit: Try a few drops on Parmigiano Reggiano, strawberries or vanilla gelato.
  • Cooking: Use in pan sauces, marinades or risotto for a sweet-and-tangy flavor.

Simple Balsamic Vinaigrette

Whisk 1 tablespoon of Mazzetti Gold Label with 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Add salt, black pepper and a small spoonful of Dijon mustard if desired.

Francesco’s Tip

Start with a few drops after your grilled meat or vegetables come off the heat. You should still taste the food, not just the balsamic. Taste before adding more.

Questions About Mazzetti Gold Label

Q

Is Mazzetti Gold Label a balsamic vinegar or a glaze?

A

It is an aged Balsamic Vinegar of Modena made from cooked grape must and wine vinegar. Gold Label has a medium body and pours easily. A balsamic glaze is much thicker and is often reduced or made with additional thickening ingredients.

Q

What do PGI and the gold seal mean?

A

PGI stands for Protected Geographical Indication. It verifies that the protected stage of production takes place in the designated Modena area under established standards. The gold Consortium seal identifies Balsamic Vinegar of Modena aged for at least three years.

Q

How should I store the bottle after opening?

A

Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. This helps preserve its aroma, flavor and smooth texture after opening.
