I suspect fruitcake received its awful reputation because of the "candied citron" fruits available at your grocer of choice. Total garbage. This authentic candied citron from Frank and Sal's will blow you away and change your mind. How delightful!
Frank and Sal's is a wonderful go to for authentic Italian foods. Online ordering is easy. They ship quickly. The quality is first class.

I guess my only disappointment was that shipping was NOT FREE.

Beautiful citron

It's difficult to find half citrons so I was happy to find these. They are really beautiful. I use them in my fruitcake but will explore more recipes this year.
