The Character of Classico

Classico is made for people who enjoy a substantial espresso with a lingering aroma. Caffe Gioia describes its flavor with notes of dark chocolate and candied fruit, balanced by a touch of acidity. These are tasting notes describing the coffee's character.

Enjoy a small espresso after lunch, or use it as the base for your morning cappuccino or latte. The individually wrapped portions make it easy to prepare one coffee at a time without grinding beans, measuring grounds, or opening a large bag.

Roasted and Packed in Southern Italy

Caffe Gioia produces its coffee in Campania, the southern Italian region that includes Naples. Classico follows that region's full-bodied espresso tradition, with Arabica and Robusta blended for both aroma and body.

Before You Brew

Which machines accept these espresso pods?

Use a machine designed for 44 mm E.S.E. paper pods. E.S.E. means Easy Serving Espresso. Some espresso machines require a dedicated pod basket, so check your model's instructions before ordering.

Will these work in Nespresso or Keurig machines?

No. E.S.E. paper pods do not fit Nespresso Original, Nespresso Vertuo, or Keurig K-Cup machines. They are also different from Lavazza Espresso Point capsules.

Is Classico decaffeinated?

No. Classico contains regular caffeinated coffee. For a lower-caffeine alternative in the same paper-pod format, choose our Caffe Gioia decaffeinated E.S.E. pods.

How much coffee is in the case?

The case contains 150 single-serve pods at 7 grams each, for 1,050 grams of coffee in total. Each pod is individually wrapped.

How do I brew and store the pods?

Remove the outer wrapper, leaving the paper pod intact. Place one pod in your machine's E.S.E. holder and brew according to the machine's instructions. Keep unused packets sealed in a cool, dry place, away from heat and moisture, and open each just before brewing.
