Caffe Gioia 100% Arabica Espresso Pods are individually wrapped, 44 mm E.S.E. paper pods filled with Italian-roasted Arabica coffee. Each box contains 150 single-serve pods with 7 grams of ground coffee apiece, ready to brew in a compatible E.S.E. espresso machine without grinding or measuring.
A Creamy Cup with a Delicate Finish
This is the Caffe Gioia blend to choose for a delicate-tasting espresso with plenty of aroma. The manufacturer's tasting notes recall toasted almonds, caramel and cream, with acidity that is barely noticeable in the cup.
Enjoy it as a short espresso, add steamed milk for a cappuccino or latte, or pour a freshly brewed shot over vanilla gelato for an affogato. Each pod is a single portion, so you can make just the coffee you need.
100% Arabica, Roasted in Southern Italy
The blend uses only Arabica coffee, with no Robusta. Caffe Gioia roasts and packs its coffee in Campania, southern Italy. The box contains 1,050 grams of coffee in total, divided into individually wrapped portions.
Choosing and Brewing Your Espresso Pods
Will these pods work in Nespresso or Keurig machines?
No. These are 44 mm E.S.E. paper pods, not Nespresso Original, Nespresso Vertuo, Keurig K-Cup or Lavazza Espresso Point capsules. Your machine must accept 44 mm E.S.E. pods; use its dedicated pod basket if your model requires one. E.S.E. stands for Easy Serving Espresso.
How is this different from Caffe Gioia Classico?
The 100% Arabica blend has a delicate, creamy character with toasted-almond and caramel tasting notes. Caffe Gioia Classico combines Arabica and Robusta for a fuller-bodied espresso with dark-chocolate and candied-fruit notes.
Does 100% Arabica mean single-origin coffee?
No. It identifies the coffee species, not one growing location. This blend combines Arabica coffees from different growing regions.
Is this coffee decaffeinated?
No. This is regular caffeinated coffee. For a decaf option in the same paper-pod format, choose our Caffe Gioia decaffeinated E.S.E. pods.
How do I prepare and store the pods?
Warm your machine as directed, remove the outer wrapper and leave the paper pod intact. Place one pod in the E.S.E. holder and brew using your machine's espresso instructions. Keep unused packets sealed in a cool, dry cupboard, away from heat, sunlight and moisture. Open each packet just before brewing.
